Quite a fuss is being made by our legislators back in Washington DC about an issue of Funding for a water development project called the Central Utah Project. Amid all the spending that is going on in Washington they have decided to stop the federal funding for this project which is essential for further development of farmlands and the more suburban/urban Utah and Salt Lake County areas.

Additionally we discuss the proposed Utah Constitutional Amendment A which addresses the issue of Secret Ballots and seeks to institutionalize them through the amendment.

The US Constitution Online

Each state has an equal number of two Senators. Is this an advantage to the large states or to the small states?

Answer: The Small States. (Wyoming, with a very small population, has as much representation in the Senate as the most populous states.)

Can a state pass laws impairing (changing or repealing) contracts that are already in existence?

Answer: No

Reference: Article 1, Section 10, clause 1.

Was the Constitution a compact of the states or a charter of liberty adopted by the people?

Answer: A charter of liberty adopted by the people. (Even though the Constitutional Convention was mad up of delegates from the states, the Founders insisted that it be ratified in conventions chosen by the people.)

Did the Founders want to keep the federal government under the control of the states or the states under the control of the federal government?

Answer: They wanted to keep the federal government under the control of the states. (One of the most serious erosions of the Constitution has been the gradual concentration of power in Washington, enabling the federal government to take action even when it is strongly opposed by most of the states. This in a great measure was accentuated by the passage of the 17th amendment.)
