The Call for Freedom | Special Guest: Carl Wimmer

May 20, 2010

Our Special Guest on this Call for Freedom will be Utah State Representative Carl Wimmer (District 52), one of the founders of the Patrick Henry Caucus, a group dedicated to a return to limited government and state sovereignty. From his web site, “I believe the constitution was truly inspired by God. I support the bill of rights, including and especially, the individual right to bear arms. A question I always ask myself before voting is, “Does this law enhance freedom and strengthen the constitution, or does it restrict it?” If the law would move us further away from the founding principles of our country, then I will always vote “no.” Join us as we learn about Rep. Wimmer’s latest projects and why he fights for freedom.

The Call for Freedom – Tuesday Mar. 30th, 2010, 9:00PM(MST)

THE GREAT DEBATE: DRINKING THE KOOL-AID AT THE TEA PARTIES

Is the Tea Party movement here to stay or is it just a flash in the pan, doomed to disappear after the 2010 election? Is the movement substantive, moving us toward freedom, or is it just another Populist uprising rooted in anger?

The Tea Party Express is roaming the country as we speak. They are holding community rallies all over the nation. One of our Call For Freedom hosts had the opportunity to attend one of these rallies on March, 29th where it’s estimated that as many as 5,000 people showed up to the rally in this small Utah community. But what was the main message of the organizers?  Do they have a long term vision for restoring freedom to our republic? We’ll analyze the viability of the Tea Party Movement. Do YOU think it will last?

Special Guest: Connor Boyack “Census Offenses” – 3-16-2010

March 27, 2010

Listen in as with visit with Connor Boyack, the well known blogger (http://www.connorboyack.com), who recently posted something that caught our attention. He said, “Comply with an un-constitutional mandate if you so choose, but ‘as for me and my house’, we will not be completing the census.” Connor makes the case that although the U.S. Constitution authorizes that citizens to be counted in a census, all but one of the questions being asked are unconstitutional. He plans to answer only that one question and then submit a letter to the Census Bureau stating why he won’t answer the others. He faces a potential fine for taking such an action. On Tuesday, we will ask him to explain his argument to see if he’s right on the constitutional issues or just going to extremes. Join us!
