How long did the Revolutionary War last – three, five, six, or eight years?Answer: Eight Years. (The first shots were fired at Lexington and Concord in April 1775, and the peace treaty was signed February 1783. Washington was commander in chief for even longer: he was first appointed in June 1775 and resigned his commission in December 1783, after the last of the British troops had sailed away from America.)

How many of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had been born in foreign countries – none, five, or nine?Answer: Nine. (Each of these had learned through firsthand experience the oppression of monarchical or dictatorial rule.)

How long did Congress deliberate before approving the Constitution and sending it to the states for ratification – eight days, two weeks, or six weeks?

Answer: Eight Days. (Congress approved the Constitution without making any changes whatsoever.)
