August 11, 2009 by Bdoga

continentalThe Continental dollar in the Revolutionary War first had a value of one hundred cents. But Congress was so insolvent that the money they issued soon lost a lot of its value. What was the final value of the Continental dollar – forty cents, fifteen cents, or less than one cent?Answer: Less than one cent. (The dollar eventually became so worthless that even the government would not accept it as legal tender.)
